Lancaster, PA. - Clark Associates, Inc. is pleased to welcome the 160 interns who are participating in the 2024 Clark Summer Intern Program. These interns come from 74 different colleges, universities, and tech schools all over the country, and the program allows these young professionals to gain experience in a variety of business environments.
Clark's commitment to remote work attracts top talent from a range of educational backgrounds nationwide. This year, the program sees first-time participation from institutions like the University of Minnesota, University of Utah, Hofstra University, and Purdue University.
The interns will work across Clark’s many business segments, including equipment, distribution, development, brick-and-click, e-commerce, and more. In each of these segments, they will learn more about job-related tasks, as well as the food service industry as a whole. Students also have the opportunity to grow in soft skills, such as effective communication, teamwork, adaptability, personal development, and many other areas.
To learn more about the company and what they might be looking for in a profession, the interns can take part virtually or in person in job shadowing opportunities, DiSC training, departmental résumé reviews, social networking, and a roundtable business discussion. Students will also participate in a special group discussion led by company founder, Fred Clark, and have the chance to contribute to the company’s volunteer day in Lancaster, PA. At the end of the summer, the interns will present their accomplishments before peers, managers, and the executive leadership team.
Clark currently has an Ambassador Program that comprises alumni from various institutions, including Lebanon Valley College, Millersville, Penn State, and Elizabethtown College. This program encourages current Clark employees to maintain relationships with their alma maters and provides opportunities for them to engage with current students.
Clark also fosters strong partnerships with 16 colleges and universities through its Charitable Foundation. This network, along with dedicated employee participation, allowed them to attend 186 events during the past academic year.
Clark’s Summer Intern Program aims to set students up for success when their internship is complete. Participants leave having gained professional and personal development experience that will guide them throughout their future careers.
